If you have wrist pain, the first thing I suggest is making sure that you have as much weight on your knees or feet as you do on your hands, with your abs pulled up and in so much that they help take some of the pressure. You can also try using fists instead of being on your hands, or even elevating your hands on a sturdy block (like a yoga block) to get better alignment, placing the heel of your hand on the block with fingers hanging.
